The Journey Summary Report

See your complete fleet performance at a glance with aggregated journey data.

The Journey Summary Report gives you the big picture of your fleet's activity. Instead of looking at individual trips, this report combines all journey data to show you totals, averages, and key performance metrics for any time period.

Key insights you'll get:

  • Total number of trips per vehicle
  • Average and total journey times
  • Distance metrics and totals
  • Speed performance data
  • Fleet-wide or individual vehicle analysis

Accessing the Journey Summary Report

Getting to your summary data is quick and straightforward.

Steps to access

  1. Open Reports section – Click "Reports" in the sidebar menu
  2. Select Journey Summary tab – Click on "Journey Summary" from the report tabs

The report interface loads with date selector, vehicle filter, and report generation buttons.


Setting up your report

Configure your report parameters to see exactly the data you need.

Step 1: Select your date range

Using the date picker:

  1. Click the calendar icon next to the date field
  2. Choose from quick options:
    • Today
    • Yesterday
    • Last 7 Days
    • Last 30 Days
    • This month
    • Last month
    • Custom Range

For custom dates:

  • Click start date on the calendar
  • Click end date
  • Confirm selection

Tip: Use "Last month" for monthly fleet reviews or "Last 7 Days" for weekly performance checks.

Step 2: Choose vehicles or devices

Filter options:

  1. Click the dropdown below date picker
  2. Select from:
    • All vehicles and devices (default)
    • Individual vehicles
    • Multiple specific vehicles

Note: "All vehicles and devices" gives you complete fleet overview in one report.

Step 3: Run the report

Generate your summary:

  • Click the green "Run Report" button
  • Report generates within seconds
  • Table displays with all metrics

Understanding report columns

Each column provides specific performance metrics for your vehicles.

Data columns explained

Name – Vehicle or device identifier

  • Shows custom names you've assigned
  • Listed alphabetically

Rego – Vehicle registration number

  • Official registration plate
  • Useful for compliance records

Date – Period covered

  • Shows exact date range analysed
  • Format: DD/MM/YYYY - DD/MM/YYYY

Journeys – Total trip count

  • Number of separate journeys
  • Each start-to-stop counts as one journey

Avg. Journey Time – Average trip duration

  • Mean time per journey
  • Format: HH:MM:SS
  • Helps identify typical trip patterns

Total Journey Time – Combined driving time

  • Sum of all journey durations
  • Shows total vehicle utilisation
  • Format: HH:MM:SS

Avg. Journey Distance (km) – Average kilometres per trip

  • Mean distance travelled per journey
  • Useful for route efficiency analysis

Total Distance (km) – Total kilometres travelled

  • Complete distance for period
  • Essential for maintenance planning
  • Used for cost calculations

Speed (km/h) – Speed metrics

  • Shows two values:
    • Average speed during journeys
    • Top speed recorded

Exporting summary data

Share your reports with stakeholders or archive for records.

Export options

Available formats:

  • CSV – For spreadsheet analysis
  • PDF – For reports and printing

How to export:

  1. Run your report
  2. Click "Export" button
  3. Select format
  4. File downloads automatically

Best practices:

  • Export monthly summaries for records
  • Use CSV for detailed analysis
  • PDF for management reports

Scheduling automated summaries

Set up regular delivery of summary reports.

Creating schedules

  1. Run report with desired settings
  2. Click "Schedule" button
  3. Configure:
    • Frequency (daily/weekly/monthly)
    • Delivery day/time
    • Email recipients
    • Format preference

Customise your summary using the Options button.

Available filters

Operating hours only:

  • Include only business hours
  • Useful for work vehicle analysis
  • Excludes after-hours use

Custom time windows:

  • Set specific hour ranges
  • Good for shift-based operations
